What we do

We support charities to gain a deep understanding of their audiences and activities, so they can make better decisions and increase their effectiveness.

We are experts in insight research and take a collaborative approach to all types of project and programme evaluation.

Insight Research

Insight research

We use a mix of cost-effective research methods – from online insight communities to ethnographic approaches – to ensure that you receive a deep understanding of your audience’s needs, opinions and behaviours.

We specialise in researching sensitive subjects and hearing from underrepresented groups. For example, we have recently spoken with bereaved parents, young people with visual impairments, those experiencing homelessness, and people fleeing conflict and persecution.

Outcome and impact evaluation

We gather insight from a range of perspectives to assess the extent to which your project or service is making a difference and generating its desired outcomes and impact.

We use our own “value creation” model to identify how your project has changed your audiences’ knowledge, attitudes and behaviours – and whether those changes have improved their situation in the short and long terms.

Participatory approaches

Participatory approaches

Our experience tells us that the most effective research projects and evaluations are those that involve beneficiaries, providers and partners as “co-pilots” in the process, helping to oversee the project, design and implement the methodology, and analyse and interpret data.

This ensures that the experience of those most closely involved with the project is accurately reflected in the research findings.

Process evaluation

As well as identifying what has been achieved, our evaluations seek to answer the question what could be done to increase your project’s impact?

We will engage those using, delivering and partnering with your project to reveal what went well and what went less well. We will develop practical recommendations for how delivery could be improved to maximise future performance.
